WHO IS FIREHOUSE?

Firehouse Ministries is located in the beautiful city of Mount Airy, North Carolina. We are less than five miles from the Virginia state line and surrounded by the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains. Firehousewas organized in 1984 with just seven people by our senior pastors Larry and Tammy Johnson.

Firehouse is an exciting, vibrant, and very real church that has grown to well over 600 people attending the Sunday morning service. We continue to grow due to the fact that our pastor and the FHM leadership team are determined to love God and love people unconditionally. With a contemporary style of worship and a very gifted and spiritual praise and worship band our music is dynamic to say the least.

We are a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic congregation. We live by the principle that God loves the world and so should we, therefore the color of a person’s skin makes no difference to us. We believe that everyone deserves to be treated the same. We are all one in His kingdom.


 WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Here at FHM we believe that its not about your clothes. The dress code is casual, which as Pastor Larry says, that means decent and comfortable. Whether you feel comfortable in a dress shirt or a t-shirt or dress slacks or blue jeans, our focus is on Jesus Christ and touching lives, not what you are wearing. We have eliminated the excuse, “I don’t have anything to wear!”


 WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WHEN I GET THERE?

When you arrive at Firehouse you will find friendly greeters at the main entrance ready to help you find your way around. We do our best to make it easy by using lots of signs to point the way as well as ushers that are more than willing to help. We are a biker friendly church so in addition to auto parking, we also have a designated area for our fellow bikers with a nice covered shelter.

Once you have entered FHM you will notice everything is easily accessible from the main entrance. To your left will be our bookstore and product room. Our nursery and children’s area are to your left as well. We take the safety of your family very serious therefore we have a state of the art check in counter for your little ones. You and your child will receive matching security wristbands with a number that will show up on the screen in the sanctuary in case you are needed for any reason. If you decide at a later time to connect with FHM and make it your place of worship both you and your child will receive permanent picture ID Badges. For you who just have to have your coffee, we have “OCTANE” our coffee shop in the lobby area. There you can get cold blended drinks in addition to hot drinks. This is a great place to meet and get to know some new friends while enjoying your Java!


 THE WORSHIP EXPERIENCE

Once you are ready to enter into the sanctuary, get ready for a life changing experience. No dead church songs, no boring music programs, no sad looking faces, no embarrassing situations, and never a dull moment. From the time that the first note is played on the instruments, it is totally awesome! Up-lifting songs that are easy to sing with the words on the Big Screen to make them easy to read. Our praise band works hard throughout the week to prepare to take you into God’s presence and to set the atmosphere for the pastor to speak a message into your lives that you can understand, relate to, and apply to your life. I promise, you will not leave like you came. You will leave excited about life, feeling better about yourself, and with a new desire to live life at it’s best with God leading the way!


WHAT WILL I LEAVE WITH?

It is our goal that everyone who visits Firehouse Ministries leaves with the desire to return. We believe you will also leave with the knowledge that Jesus is more than a good doer, He is the son of God! Our desire is to make sure that you leave knowing that you can have more than just religion, you can actually have a relationship with a very real and awesome God.
